Here are some more details of my system for reference. I'm having no luck finding any solutions to this problem and it's really quite annoying and a small but frequent impediment to my work, so if anyone can help me fix this you would be my hero! Some web searching showed me lots of examples of this type of thing happening in earlier versions of windows, but it seemed to be more inconsistent (this really happens to me essentially every time i want to unhide the task bar). The only way to consistently make the task bar appear is by pressing windows key + D (to minimize all windows). The last 2 cases are very inconsistentДЄnd i can't pin down a reproducible behavior most of the time the taskbar just doesn't unhide. In very rare instances it just unhides successfully the first time, but these instances are usually related to having just opened or closed or minimized another program. The taskbar side the taskbar does successfully unhide. About 20% of the time it happens like this: after a brief delay (1-5 seconds) of my mouse moving against the taskbar just remains 'hidden' and will not unhide regardless of if i move my mouse back and forth, or click or anything. The most common behavior then, is that I move my mouse against the task bar side (I have it on the left side of the screen) and I enable the auto-hide setting and the taskbar hides with no problem. The task bar almost always fails to unhide after autohiding.
